Developing Ireland’s Cybersecurity Industry through Research and Development
The itag Cyber Research Conference Ireland (CRCI) is the annual meeting of researchers from academia, industry and public authorities working in the field of cybersecurity across the island of Ireland.
This year’s conference takes place at University of Galway on the 1st December, 8.30am – 4.15pm.

At CRCI 2025, University of Galway, itag and Cyber Ireland bring you an industry focused cybersecurity R&D workshop: Developing Ireland’s Cybersecurity Industry through Research and Development. This dedicated workshop for industry will take place after the main conference at 2.00pm – 3.45pm.
To become a true leader in Europe for cybersecurity, Ireland needs to invest in a cybersecurity R&D ecosystem. Central to this is the establishment of a national cybersecurity R&D centre to coordinate cyber research across leading universities and research groups and engaging with industry to deliver enterprise R&D projects and new innovations.
Our industry R&D will bring industry and academia together to:
• Present Ireland’s cybersecurity R&D Landscape and future plans.
• Promote industry cybersecurity research project case studies.
• Share information on industry R&D funding supports and how to develop collaborative R&D projects.
• Facilitate new collaborative industry-academia cybersecurity R&D projects.
This industry workshop provides itag Cyber Forum and Cyber Ireland members the opportunity to meet with researchers and explore how to develop new cybersecurity R&D projects.
