Why Attend?

Cyber Ireland’s 1st South Chapter Meeting will hear from Richard Browne, Director of the National Cyber Security Centre, who will discuss “Ireland’s National Cyber Security Strategy 2019 – 2024 & the Role of the NCSC.”

This will be very topical given the recent publication of the National Cyber Security Strategy 2019 – 2024 for Ireland.

The meeting will also provide an overview of the Cyber Ireland Regional Chapters and how members can get involved in the Organising Committee.

National Cyber Security Strategy

The National Strategy outlines how Government will implement measures to protect our nation, to develop our cyber security sector, and to deepen our international engagement on the future of the internet.

The Strategy sets out the Government’s plans for:

  • National Capacity Development
  • Critical Nationol Infrastructure Development
  • Public Sector Data & Networks
  • Among others (Skills, Enterprise Development, Engagement, Citizens)

Cyber Ireland – South Regional Chapter

The purpose of the Cyber Ireland Regional Chapters is to provide a link between the national activities and regional members. The Regional Chapters will:

  • Organise a regular meet-up for the Cyber Security community in the region to include talks on thought-leadership, cyber security topics, trends and applications
  • Raise awareness of Cyber Ireland activities & value, regionally (Top-down)
  • Provide feedback from the regions and develop new initiatives relevant to each region (Bottom-up)

There will be an opportunity for attendees to register their interest to be part of the South Chapter organising committee at the first meet-up.

Time: 8.00 am – 9.30 am

  • 8.00am – tea, coffee & networking
  • 8.20am – Presentation & Discussions
