Fully Funded Cybersecurity Courses Now Available for Irish SMEs

Cybersecurity is no longer confined to IT departments – it’s a critical business risk that affects every organisation, especially SMEs.

With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, businesses need practical, accessible ways to build internal capability and resilience. That’s why the Digital4Security project, co-funded by the European Union, is offering three fully funded postgraduate cybersecurity micro-credentials for professionals working in Irish SMEs and companies.

What is the Digital4Security Project?

Digital4Security is a European initiative designed to strengthen cybersecurity skills across the workforce, particularly within SMEs that may lack dedicated cyber expertise. The project brings together academic institutions, industry partners and training providers to deliver accessible, high-quality education that supports real-world business needs. Its goal is to help organisations build practical cyber awareness, improve risk management, and enhance resilience against evolving digital threats – all while supporting Europe’s wider digital transformation agenda.

Delivered online by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) on behalf of Skillnet Ireland, these 10-week courses are designed to equip teams across all functions – not just technical staff – with the skills to recognise threats, manage risk, and respond effectively.
