Women's International Cybersecurity Challenge 2026 Showcases Global Talent and Collaboration

The inaugural Women’s International Cybersecurity Challenge (WICC) 2026 brought together some of the world’s most talented cyber professionals and future leaders for two days of competition, collaboration and community in Ireland.

Congratulations to #TeamEurope, winners of the first-ever WICC, following an outstanding performance across a series of demanding technical and strategic challenges. Congratulations also to the US Cyber Team and Team Oceania for securing hard-fought podium finishes.

While the competition tested participants’ cybersecurity skills, it also highlighted the importance of adaptability, teamwork, communication and strategic thinking under pressure. More importantly, it demonstrated the strength and diversity of the global cybersecurity community.

A Community Effort

The success of WICC was made possible through an incredible international collaboration. Volunteers, organisers, technical teams, judges, watchdogs, sponsors and community partners from Ireland, across Europe, the United States and beyond contributed their time, expertise and energy to deliver a world-class event.

There were almost as many people involved in organising the challenge as there were competitors participating, reflecting the commitment of the global cyber community to creating opportunities for women in cybersecurity.

Special thanks go to the International Steering Committee, Local Organising Committee, the ZeroDays CTF team, jury members, watchdogs and volunteers whose dedication helped make the event such a success.

Driving Diversity Through Action

WICC is a powerful example of what can be achieved when industry, academia, government and community organisations work together. While diversity and inclusion are often discussed across the technology sector, the sponsors and partners of WICC turned commitment into action by providing funding, expertise and support to help make the challenge a reality.

A special mention also goes to the livestream and photography teams, who helped make elements of the competition, particularly the 1v1 challenges, more accessible and engaging for audiences around the world.

The closing ceremony was attended by Minister Catherine Ardagh, recognising the significance of initiatives that help strengthen cybersecurity skills, foster international collaboration and encourage greater participation from women across the cyber sector.
